Coffee Shop Talk

Coffee Shop Talk

I’ve loved coffee and coffee shops since I was 12 years old. My first experience having coffee was in Colorado when I was there for a month to help with my cousin Margaret's new baby. She would make us walk to Starbucks, and our reward was a latte and a biscotti. There’s a nostalgia for me when it comes to coffee, and these some of my favorite local coffee spots that I think are worth it and bring me back to that early coffee experience.

The Fox and Pantry (Plymouth)

This is a great stop for people of all ages, with not only amazing coffee and treats, but also fun classes and events too! It’s a great option when you are heading west on highway 55.

Fawkes Alley (Loring Park, Minneapolis)

We couldn’t get more local if we tried! Fawkes Alley is located directly next door to our office in Loring Park by way of the alley. It’s a quaint spot that packs a punch. We love the people and the community that has come together to support the mission of Fawkes Alley. All the coffee, tea and baked goods are lovely.

Restoration Hardware (Edina)

Isn’t this a furniture store? Well, yes—AND there is a fabulous restaurant on the rooftop! Will and I love RH Rooftop for some of the best food and COFFEE!  We typically order a chai; Will likes it iced and I like it hot. Then we order a shot of espresso on the side. Will thinks their iced chai is the best.

Spyhouse (Northeast Minneapolis)

Spyhouse has multiple locations, but my personal favorite is the one in Northeast. It’s a little moody, the people-watching is great, and there are enough workspaces. My drink of choice here is the vanilla latte, or the caramella if I’m feeling extra.

Backstory Coffee Roasters (North Loop, Minneapolis)
 https://backstory.coffee/
My first visit was last summer when I was picking up a client to go on some showings. She said I needed to come inside and see the new coffee shop in her building. She was right. Take some time and go check out the space—it’s so beautiful and fresh. They have great coffee, a great work environment, and lots of fantastic instagram opportunities as well. They also have a location in St. Paul.

I hope you'll check out some of these great coffee shops and let me know what you think!
